The PLW is a combined passenger and load winch. It allows the transport of up to 300 kg of people or material. The personal load winch is used in combination with approved anchorage devices, belay devices and fall arrest/seat belts. It is used for safe and jerk-free access to containers by people. The belayer operates the PLW on the hand crank and thus the person to be secured is roped up and down. The hand crank is equipped with a load pressure brake and locks immediately when the crank is released. The security guard can also initiate a rescue immediately.
