Abseiling devices are used to abseil down from an elevated workstation in an emergency. Abseiling can be carried out by the user themselves or with the help of a second person. There are basically two different types of abseiling devices: Self-braking descender, which is operated by the user themselves and self-braking descender that descends automatically (centrifugal brake).
