Redaelli hosted from 15th till 17th May the annual meetings of EWRIS, an organization founded several years ago with the aim to promote and develop the common interests of the European producers of steel wire ropes. Currently EWRIS group together almost all manufacturers of steel wire ropes, which are present in 14 countries in Europe; for the first time its congress has met all of its delegates, who have wholly accepted the invitation to participate to the congress organized in Milan with a massive presence of all member Companies, directly represented by their own CEO or Managing Directors. Exclusively for this year's congress was organized as well the first global forum open also to producers of our sector of non‐European countries, that have free imports in the UE. The most important Companies in the world (Japan, India, Korea, North / South America), presented to the European delegates their Companies and their "point of view" on the future development of our global industry. In the debate that followed the main producers of the world met to discuss key strategic issues on our business; the key role of the European industry was reconfirmed by the request of the guests to have again next year a second edition of the forum in Europe. During the General Assembly held on 17th May 2011 was elected the new Board, that will represent for the next years the European industry of the steel wire ropes. Our managing Director ‐ Maurizio Prete ‐ by unanimous vote was elected President of EWRIS; the CEO of Casar Wolfgang Oswald and the CEO of Bridon Jon Templeman as Directors. This appointment, the first time in the history of Redaelli and “Severstal‐metiz”, confirms the growing importance that our Company and the Group are reaching at a global level. Finally Redaelli has had the honor to invite the guests to an event dedicated to them, with an exclusive visit to the “Veneranda Pinacoteca Ambrosiana” followed by a gala dinner that ended , as to the organization and the politic, a very high level event.
